Our Story
Basa was born from firsthand frustration with entertainment deal chaos. Our founder, Adam Schlossman, spent decades negotiating thousands of deals across music, film/TV, and audio as artist manager for Delta Rae and Executive Producer at Religion of Sports. The same question kept surfacing: Why do templated deals take weeks or months to close when the legal complexity is minimal?
Alongside tech innovator Ryan Buterbaugh—who architected enterprise platforms reaching hundreds of millions of users at Southwest Airlines and Sony before co-founding venture studio Prota Ventures—Adam recognized that distribution changing from traditional media to social platforms, combined with exploding content volume, would make this problem exponentially worse, forcing teams to spend even more time on administrative chaos while competitors with better infrastructure capture deals and talent.
Combining over 40 years of expertise in entertainment deal-making and enterprise technology, Adam and Ryan created Basa to solve what others ignored: the manual chaos that happens after sourcing. It's infrastructure built by industry insiders who've lived the problem, designed for the content transformation that's already reshaping how brands and creators work together.
