ABOUT BASA

Finding the creator is only the start.

Most creator software helps teams find creators or measure what the content did.

Basa keeps the offer, negotiation, approval context, contract, signature, and deal history together.

A $500 deal can take the same work as a $5,000 deal.

The value changes. The process does not.

The outreach still has to happen. Rates still have to be agreed. Terms still need approval. The contract still needs to be reviewed and signed.

Our operating estimate is 60 to 80 messages for a creator deal. At 300 deals, that can mean 18,000 to 24,000 messages before every agreement is signed.

The people are not the problem. The same information is being copied, checked, chased, and found again because the deal is spread across email, messages, spreadsheets, documents, and different teams.

Basa keeps the deal together.

The offer, responses, agreed terms, approval context, contract, and final record stay connected. When the next deal starts, the company can see what it agreed before instead of reconstructing it.

A contract cannot be 99% right.

Basa is not built to replace negotiation or legal judgment with AI.

Whether a rate is fair, whether to push or hold, whether a rights request is acceptable, and whether a partnership is worth entering are decisions people should make.

Basa makes the work around those decisions easier to follow. The people involved can work from the same terms, version, status, and history without replacing the judgment of the person responsible.

Why I built Basa

I have spent most of my career making and managing deals.

I managed Delta Rae for close to a decade through a Warner Records deal and years of touring. Later, I joined Religion of Sports as its third employee and an executive producer.

I saw the same problem from different sides: good people spending too much time coordinating the deal instead of making the decisions that mattered.

After leaving sports media in 2023, I spent nine months studying AI full time. Production was getting faster. The commercial process around it was not.

I built the first version of Basa while traveling across Latin America and the Middle East. I saw the same manual workflow in each market.

Ryan Buterbaugh, my cofounder and CTO, has spent twenty years building enterprise software, including work for Southwest Airlines and Sony, before cofounding Prota Ventures.

I know the workflow and where people need to make decisions. Ryan knows how to build enterprise systems around those requirements.

That is what we built Basa to do.

Who Basa is for

Basa is for teams running creator deals every week, including brands, agencies, and talent teams, especially when Marketing, Business Affairs, Legal, Finance, creators, representatives, and outside partners all touch the same agreement.

If you hire one creator a year, you probably do not need Basa.
