Rights management

Know what you own. Know when it ends.

Usage rights and production deals, run from go-live to expiry in one place. Every right, every brand, every market, on one screen: what runs out this quarter, who owns it, and what is already past term.

Rights & Exclusivity in Basa, next to Campaigns and Payments. Sample data.

The contract sets the rule. It does not hold the date.

March 3Contract signedTerms say paid usage for 12 months from first post.
April 18Post goes liveThe 12 months start here, in a different team's tool.
Next April 18Rights endNo one was told, because no one held the date.
Months laterStill runningAn audit or an invoice finds it. Now it is a penalty.

The person who signed the PDF is not the person running the ad. The contract is in legal's drive. The dates are in a spreadsheet, if anyone typed them. The go-live is in the agency's posting tool. The reminder is in one person's calendar. The owner is often nobody. Emails, spreadsheets and PDFs. We still run rights the way we did in 1999.

In most companies, nobody owns the moment a right runs out.

That is the job Basa takes on.

Basa connects the rule, the date and the owner.

1
Terms agreed
Usage, markets and term come straight from the signed deal.
2
Go-live marked
One click when the content goes live. The clock starts there, not at signature.
3
End date set
Calculated from the rule, for every asset and market.
4
Owner alerted
The right person hears in time, with the choice to make.
5
Action recorded
Renew, extend or stop. The decision stays on the record.

Basa is where the deal was made, so it already has the terms. One click marks the go-live, and every date after it follows. People still make every decision. Basa sends the reminder before the date, and again if nobody answers.

Basa sent this. Nobody set a reminder.

Fourteen days before paid usage ends, the person running the ad gets the right, the end date, the agreement section and the three choices. The creator is copied. If nobody answers, it goes again, and a second person gets it too.

For the general counsel

When the auditor asks, this is what the record holds.

Who agreed to it?Every party and approver, by name and version.
What exactly was agreed?Usage, markets, media and term, as signed.
When did it go live? The day it went live, marked in one click and tied to the content.
What did we do when it ended?Renewed, extended or stopped, by whom and when.

The record is yours. One export holds every right, its agreement, its owner, its reminders and its decisions.

How Basa keeps your data →

Your agencies keep doing the work. You keep the record.

We are the plumbing between the deal and the content.

Brand and legal

You pay an agency to track your rights, and you do not hold the list. Basa gives you the list.

Agencies send new deals through Basa from the start. Each client sees only its own.
Paid media

The agreement says Nov 10. The code date your team entered says Nov 3. Both on one row.

The reminder goes to the person running the ad, not only the person who signed.
Creators

See what brands can do with your content, and when it stops. If they want more time, you get paid.

Nothing changes unless you accept.

Start with one license. Grow to every right you hold.

Bring one of your own agreements to the demo and see it on the list, with its end date and its owner.

Every screen on this page shows sample data. Basa keeps the dates your team enters and tells the owner before they arrive. It does not watch ads, calculate union fees or clear content.
